Hi there,

I have got fibre glass doors going on the mini (heavy duty ones). I won't have the conventional door locking mechanisms, what would you recommend if i wanted to have central locking?

Thanks,

Abe

Great question,

Could you PM me a picture of the locks that you will be using! Or are they from another application that we might know of? :)

I am sure we can get you sorted!

Thank you for the quick reply rob. I will PM you tomorrow with my plan for the doors and pictures. I will be using the standard door lock unit, but have nowhere to mount the normal internal door handle and the lock switch.

That's why i am looking for an alternative method of opening and closing the doors. Will get pictures of the doors for you tomorrow :)

Thanks,

Abe

Hi,

Quick question about the alarm that goes with this central locking system. Can it be configured without the interior scanning? The reason I ask is that I'm interested in central locking and all the alarm and immobilisation features but do not want the interior of the car spoilt by mounting the ultrasonic sensors. Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Great question! You can activate and de activate all of the features on the alarm and tailor how you like! You could have the alarm to literally be triggered by the doors opening or interior light.

If you choose to deactivate the ultrasonic sensors you can then choose to unplug them completely, you can still have the knock sensors fitted as these hide away behind the dash or in the door trim etc!

Many thanks,

Rob

Just want to say, my Alarm and central locking kit arrived safely to New Zealand today :), the box was really well packaged, everything wrapped up really well and safely and everything looks awesome so far! It even had a little sticker on the inside saying that the components had been checked and signed off by someone at A series spares which i think is a nice little touch! :) will hopefully install this in a week or two! :)

Cheers

Nick

Looks like a nice bit of kit.
I'm thinking of having this to replace the kit iv got.

Will I be able to make use of the wiring iv got? Both actuators are 5 wire, and a control box that iv got all wired into the road alarm system.

Have you got pictures of the whole kit, showing everything you get?
What the hole saw for?

Sorry about all the questions.

Cheers.

Hello,

We have had a few people upgrade their current central locking to this kit.
The system comes with full wiring instructions so what i would suggest is:

When installing the new motors, make sure the wiring from your box links up the same as the wiring in our system. The actuators that come with our kits are both 5 wire (master)

New art work will be uploaded soon so that you can see all of the hardware and the cables etc.

Infact once i have finished adding service kits to the website i will get the artwork finished :)

Thank you very much for your questions,

Rob

Hello,

Sorry for the slow reply!

The universal package is not tailored to any car. It can be made to fit the mini and several owners have done this, But it is not tailored and could be tricky depending on your skill level and tools you have available.

The mini package, This is tailored to the mini door, The units for the doors come complete and ready to 'slot in' with all the correct hardware and simple to follow instructions with templates.

Our god friends at 'Mini Magazine' are writing a feature article with a 'how to' guide written by them when they installed the system to one of their staff cars!

I hope i have helped to clear things up :)
