Well,
Some good news, I gave my insurance company a call this morning, and it turns out that they only required a fresh MoT on him.
The nice old Government would still like me to get a VIC done on him too, but it isn't essential for me to be able to drive him again.
So I have been out today, re-discovering my love for driving him :shades:
However, there are still the retards out there who seem to think that cutting up Mini's has to be done >_<
Namely in some crappy Mondeo which they clearly don't care about as they haven't even noticed that the exhaust was practically being dragged along the ground.
Anyway, rant over, he's still marvellous to drive, which is the important bit :D
Oh and I have fitted some clear rear lenses (Please don't hate me for it, I like them) along with re-fitting my home-made (I'm a student, says it all really) dashboard,
and fresh steering wheel, Pictures will follow tomorrow, bit dark to be taking some now >_<

Glad he's all fixed up!!

Be careful if you get a centre console that it doesn't rub against your foot when you use the clutch.. mine had a centre console when i first got it and i ripped it out because it got so annoying :ohno:

Look forward to the new pics! :proud:

So am I, it's been nearly 2 months since the accident, but he is all fixed up now :proud:
Ah yeah I have heard about that problem, I am going to be making my own so hopefully I should be able to avoid having my clutch foot rubbing on the side of the console

Anyway, here are the pictures, as promised: :shades:
From my living room window:

Now for some of the dashboard (it isn't finished yet mind...)

I will be covering it in vinyl once I have decided what colour scheme I'm going to be going for :shy:

And finally, the steering wheel, it has gone from a standard wheel to this. I know it isn't in the best of conditions, but I like it :teehee:

And yes I am aware that I have stolen the centre cap from the standard wheel :teehee:
but it needed something to cover the nut... :shy:

Yeah I quite like the colour scheme it came with :)
Although I don't think I'll be doing the same for the inside...

Fingers crossed I'll be able to find someone with a press that can pull the wheel through the other way, then it'll look all perdy again :teehee:

Haha I know it is basic, but I made it myself with a saw and a hand drill so I'm quite pleased with the result :D

It will probably have to wait until after l2b to get covered, as I still have to install the cigarette lighter and audio system before then :S

Hey ho, all in good time I guess...

Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about that either :D
But there is no way I'll be able to get it on and rolling roaded before l2b now :goaway:
Stupid insurance people :nuke:
Unless you fancy sticking around after the exams to help me get it done? ;D

Haha no it has to be said, lag sucks, which is why I would rather keep it naturally aspirated, also, less parts to go wrong on it.. :shifty:
Hmm ya see, I actually much prefer the whine of a supercharger of the suckiness of the turbos, and turbos also make the car quieter generally and you lose some of the engine tone...
That said, it does have to be the right tone of whine, prefer deep to tinny/high whines... :shy:

I've always preferred the deep muscle car sound compared to... a formula 1 car sound for example, although.. i do like the sound of straight cut gears. I'm a bit just weird haha :proud:

what does make that deep tone? how much lift the cam has? or does that just make it sputtery?....so many questions.. :ohno: hehe
