is it just me or is the gear ration very short from changing from 1st to 2nd? its a pain when pulling out from a junction to either change gear as pulling out or over rev then change gear after.

and when changing gear whats the best revs to be in?

at the moment i rev upto 3000 before changing up or 4000 when i want to get somewhere. I havent gone about 4500 because i didnt know whether it would strain the engine.

i would not worry
you wont cause much damage till ure at about 6k

1st to 2nd are too close together.

Change gear at the best time for the conditions (road and car)
