Gearbox / oil leak!!!

it looks like the oil is coming from your inner pot joints, this is a very common area for mini's to leak from. (those big black lumps with the rubber gaitors on are you inner pot joints, at the ends of your driveshafts.) where these come out of the gearbox they have a rubber oilseal.

these are relatively easy to change and only cost a couple of quid., bear in mind that when you change them, you have to drain the oil, so you may as well get an oil filter and fresh oil and do an oil change while your there.

the haynes book will tell you how to remove and refit the inner pot joint and the oil seal.

ah cheers. Meh book aint arrived yet, but i will have a look when it does and order them parts needed.

what are these rubber things called, i cant seem to find them on any websites.

Do i need anything else aswell as these?

the oil seals you need are dif oil seals for pot joint part no grbms3308 from mini sport @ about £3.50 per seal WWW.minisport.com. these are the seals which go into the gearbox dif which your drive shafts come out of
