Well this is my feeble attempt,
I'm no computer wizard or anything so this is probably to the best of my abilitys, hopefully its good enough.

I thought i'd do a design like this as i thought everyone would be going for the silhoette style look and though this would be a bit different as the mini has a distinctive, easily recognisable shape and outline so the first thing you'll see is mini then the word 'forum' in large font so even at a passing glance your mind will remember mini-forum, clever eh.

I tried to keep the sameish design as the current one IMO looks great as it is. I also stuck another mini on the end, so it could be used as the title of the forum too? Also an idea i had on this, if you wanted, everyone could put a photo of their mini in a thread, and every week/month the mini and colour of the font could be changed, (just for the forum) So it keeps it fresh and everyones mini gets put on show .. Again, Just an idea.

We want something unique and easily identifiable as TMF, the current one has become very similar to other logos so we wanted to get a fresh look before we launch the new shop and get flags and banners made :)

what colour scheme do you think is best?
would you want to keep to the blue?
and i think the slogan 'your online guide to everything mini' should definitely stay, its great.
but do you think you would want 'TMF' or theminiforum or the TMF one for stickers for example and then 'theminiforum' for a the banner at the top?

The colour scheme we're leaving entirely up to the designer as we can change the forum colour scheme to match. We'd like the logo to carry the full name 'The Mini Forum' as people might not know what TMF stands for if they see it in the stand equipment or stickers. I'm pretty excited about this too, it's the start of a few things once we get the logo :)

As a bit of a pointer I'd suggest looking at where the current TMF logo is used. The proportions need to suit the website header as well as display banners for shows & the new merchandise: Tee shirts, window stickers.....

A good, clear, outline shape will help it to be recognisable at a glance & in an instant, and while Mini imagery is appropriate; a Mini alone won't distinguish us from the rest of the Mini community.
