Bought this mess at the beginning of march and shes so far cost me twice what I originally paid!
Took her home and she ran like a no legged horse.
She had a full service including brake pads and a few other gubbins, much better
All was going well until she failed her MOT on the stupidest of things "indicator not orange enough" among other bits.. Got that all fixed with smiles all round.
Then!!! The head gasket when kaapoop on me so back to square one. (oh, someone also keyed her door and rear panel that night)
Everything repaired and back to normal, heading down a country lane.. KKERRRRAACCCKKKK!! CLAANGG CLAANNGGG!! My girlfriend and I screamed our heads off as the passenger side bearing decided to disintergrate and drag us into a shallow gutter at the edge of the road.
I still love it though.. Even the stupid paint job, (i didnt do it i promise!)

What I'm aiming for in the future:
Shes not a pretty girl, pure work horse!
After the bearing incident, feeling rather embarassed

Did a trip from southend to Clacton over the weekend and no problems at all, not even in heavy traffic. Looking to get a new exhaust soon but not too loud, the standard one is noisy enough at 50mph

Took the silly arches off today and fitted smaller fibreglass black ones. only temporary fixes as i plan to get a new front end and repair the back panel sections :)
Also replaced the door seals as the old ones were pooped.
Got in contact with one of the previous owners today and found out she used to be matt black with standard arches.... wish it was left like that!

I did indeed matt, i miss her lots but she was unsafe to drive. this one is sound, just looks shabby!
Ahah Austinmini, you are right We had to do an emergency stop the other day as one of the sportspack arches flew off at 40mph.. all secure now though
Also managed to lose the grille on my way to pick up Terri.. so its somewhere in southend now got one in our donor car i can pinch though :)

Just my friggin luck... crashed her today, thankfully just a scrape and a bent wheel arch, although i think a tie-rod has been bent too. A lady decided to chance it and pulled out on me as i was tootling round a roundabout. slammed the brakes on and bounced off her rear side panel.
She drove off!!
I chased her about a mile down the road just after kent elms corner, got infront and brought her to a stop. Needless to say my language was colourful!
Both cars are ok so we decided not to take things further, she drove off as she thought i was a typical boy racer essex yob! Far from it She also didnt realise a little wobble felt in her car was mine being bounced off and thrown across the road!
neh mind ey.. sodding mini.

Skortchio has been ever so helpful recently and we are working together to get things sorted :)
Already fitted some new rear upper subframe bushes (i think thats the part) and have got some other parts delivered (bushes and mount thingys)
Chunky fitted the airhorns and will be taking a look at the awful loom during the week.
Now on the lookout for upgraded exhaust parts, Nelly currently has a completely standard and very leaky system
Out of action for the next few days as im ill boo!
