Okay i give up. How the feck are you meant to install them bloody circlips onto the rear wheel cylinders without that tool??

I remember reading many suggestions for this a while back. I did my brakes on the bench so I had better access and no problems. If they are on the car, you may want to try using two screwdrivers at the same time. Anchor one in the ring groove of the cylinder and use it to lever the ring "flatter" against the backplate. Use the second screwdriver to lever the ring into the groove. Also required is the patience of Job.
