Hello,

Just joined, thought I'd say hello <see above>.

I was given a Mini when I was 17 (few years ago now), a black Rover Mini Thirty. A real beauty.
Sadly, by the time I passed my test it needed a new MOT which required an awful amount of money being spent on it.

I'm now in a battle with the family about keeping it or selling it. I'm hoping I win, but there are some little issues with the car that I'm struggling with. I'm not (yet) a proper enthusiast, in the sense that I don't know enough about cars at the moment to be able to treat it as a project to maintain. I feel a little guilty that I'm not driving it enough to justify owning it, when someone who knows what they're doing might be able to restore it back to its original glory. As it gets slightly rustier every year I worry about the cost of running it.

I'd love to meet a Mini enthusiast mechanic who might have a look at the car and do some basic work on her for a few pennies!

E.

Not yet sure what needs doing (classic 'noob' territory), taking her for an MOT soon, will see if it's a long list!!!
