Looking for new speakers to go in the back of the car under the passenger seats. Not really sure on the difference between
  • full range
  • mid range / mid bass
I just want to add something that sounds good and is of decent price really but not sure what.

Any help? Please :shy:

full range speakers will usually have a tweeter incorporated into the design and will be able to do everything from about 150hz to 20khz (just above low bass frequency up to the high sounds).

A mid range speaker is just that, it will only replicate mid range (150hz up to 8khz).

Consider what you are trying to do with your set up. If you want the best sound quality, nothing beats a proper component setup, including a mid range, tweeters (high range) and subwoofers (low range).

personally, I think having two full range speakers in the dash (around 6" diameter) with two 6" subs under the rear seat is a good comprimise in terms of ease of setup, cost, and quality.

the most important thing is what you consider a decent price?

@shivi_d92 - not sure on what a decent price is, as long as it doesnt put to be a dent in my bank account

@Rocan - i have 2 speakers already in the parcel shelf (dont know what they are as they came with the car). ive already bought sperate tweeters and have seen an 8inch sub which im going to put in.

So in theory do i only need mid-range/mid-bass then?

Again not knowing what you consider a dent in your account make it close to imposable to give recommendations. Are you talking £15 £50, £150, £1500 or 15 grand???

And you do know that all this dotting speakers around and mainly behind you is not the best way to do this...

A Single set of Comps and a sub is all you need in a mini... and get the full range up front. DONE.
