If the motor can't rotate, it will draw excess current and fairly quickly blow the fuse. It may be that there is an electrical short in teh motor, but I would be inclined to disconnect it from the rack and see if it will run. You may have to strip, clean and lubricate the rack and wheelboxes, maybe worth doing anyway from time to time.

remove the linkage to the wiper arms and see if it still blows fuses

I take it that's the metal rod from the motor to the wipers?

Tried taking it all apart and it all works with and without the wiper arm on however it's as if the position of the motor isn't right as its still blowing the fuse I'll persevere with it as I know it all works thanks for the help

Think it was the position and tightness of the motor might be wrong but I also loosened of the nut that tightens the rod to the motor slightly and it's running fine ha now for the horn problem and the car will be running great

Hello all, havent posted for an age but ive got a problem.

My indicator fuse keeps blowing, it has been fine for months and now gone through about 10 in a few days. If i replace the amp (35) it will work for a few minutes and then, indicators will go. i get incredibly annoyed at people that dont use them so dont want to join them!!!!
This will (i guess) be a short in the circuit somewhere but having to go along all the wiring to find a small area of wire exposed might take a while and get incredibly frustrating. Or do i just have to do that?

My stereo keeps resettign but apparently this is something to do with the earth or live or something like that? No correlation between the 2?

Many thanks
Sam

First of all, you need to establish whether it blows when using left indicator, right indicator, or none, to narrow it down to a smaller part of the wiring.

Your radio problem is probably related, the voltage will drop severely when the short occurs which is blowing the fuse.

Right ive just been to Gaydon Mini Show and fuse worked for the last few eeks fine, then had blown when i went to go home. Tried to replace it which usually works (until the next time) and usually lasts for a long time.
It seems to blow when i first start up the engine and dont think its either the left or right as ive tried to have them both on for a while. So that must mean its a short somewhere but where to start? Or a case or cleaning the points, but even with a dry cloth by the roadside that didnt really help, just went through a cuple more fuses.
i think the radio not storing the stations must be something to do with the electronics connected to it as the only dont store when the engine is turned off. you can tunr the radio off and then turn back on for the stations to still be there so im thinking not to do with the wiring (per say)

This sound about right?

Cheers
