Greeting,

Hello everyone i am new obviously to TMF, my name it Timothy Byrne and i am 17 years of age.
i have recently brought a 1977 leyland mini clubman and my god im in love, i have always worked on cars and i love how easy this things are to work on. my uncle and grandfather restored and raced a morris mini K and it was running an 1100cc with twin SU's and that thing could fly so it inspired me.so after years of dreaming and serching i found a great little car, it was on of my teachers cars who i had worked on it before so we go back this little beast and me and blood sweat and tears went into it. haha so because i had done previous work on it i was able to bargain down to $3000 AU which is pretty cheap compared to others on the market. now the is in good nick with a solid motor i just had the head machined and new gaskets and radiator, fans, water pump etc etc and it is currently geting a re spray and only very minor body work, ( i will soon post up pics of the restore) so yeh this car is getting treated nicely and has come to a good home but i cant seem to get the dam speedo and tacho to work after many new cables and other s&**%t, haha oh well character of the mini i guess, though i am upgrading to new modern dials or an digital unit. so yeah thats my car and alittle bit about it, also i am a student pilot and in year 12 so cant wait to finish up and drive the mini to the airport and back should be a great car and im looking forward to talking to some new min i lovers and sharing some exprience and to learn new things, cheers guys.
