. i fancied tidying up my engine bay by wrapping all the wires in electrical tape to hide them a bit more. while doing this all the wires fell off the coil due to green wires.
i replaced the wires where they should go after probing them to find what they do and a wiring diagram for coils.
the car now sounds like a tractor, i think it sounds like its pinking but adjusting the timing did not affect it. it is running on all cylinders but sounds like its misfiring on every other stroke too.
so far i have replaced the coil, the ignition module, replaced and re soldered all connections to no avail.
please help me??

How do you know it is firing on all cylinders? Did you also happen to knock the spark plug wires off the dizzy cap and/or remove the plug wires from the distributor cap during this work? What you are describing sure sounds like a firing order problem. The plug wires should go counterclockwise around the cap in the order 1-3-4-2. Cylinder #1 is the one closest to the water pump.

You say that you have installed a new coil and a new ignition module.
Did you replace the coil and ignition module as part of cleaning up the wiring or to try and fix the resulting running problem?
Were you aware that the coil used by the Lucas electronic ignition is unique to that application and must be replaced with the same coil type? This is not a "standard" or "ballast" coil, it is an electronic ignition coil.
I could not tell from your videos, but does your car have a brake servo? If so, is there a chance you bumped its hose to the intake manifold causing it to crack or come off at either end?
