Hello chaps,

Sorry if this is the wrong section.

After getting a new job, I am looking at selling both my Minis. I won't have time to enjoy them and I don't want to watch them slowly deteriorate when someone else could be using them. My next car will be another classic, but I'll always have a soft spot for these little machines.

The main thing I'm asking about here is about my '66 shell. It's been sat in my garage for nearly 4 years now doing nothing. Luckily it’s a good garage for storage and it's not deteriorated at all - just dusty!

There are some photos below. It's a fairly good shell from what I can see, I have all the correct paperwork and V5 for the car, although I don't know much about its history in terms of when it was last on the road.

It is just the shell essentially, with loads and loads of bits and bobs, but nothing of much value. The odd carb and two fuel tanks type thing, wiring looms, speedo…just odd random parts.

If anyone has any idea what this is worth could you let me know as I really have no idea whatsoever.

Squeak

Is the V5 for an 850 or a 998 Cooper? If it's an 850 and as rust-free as it looks, then around £2500 might be right. If it's a 998 Cooper, then £5000 might be about right, assuming you have a lot of original bits to go with it.

Ah ok thats not a bad investment I paid £700 for it! The historic vehicle V5 I'm afraid is for the 848cc so certainly won't be getting £5000! I might put it on ebay soon then and see what I can get for it. Really don't think there much point having it anymore.

£2500 does seem an awful lot though! Was thinking £1500 max!

Stick it in the for sale section here at a price that you would be happy. I'm sure you'll have plenty of interest.....I would love another mk1, but having no where to store it or money to buy it, then that rules me out lol
