I was set on kent cam but i have been offered a used piper 270 for 50 pound, is it worth just buying a new kent?

Only thing i know about piper cams is that they're good but tend to wear out quickly, so worth having a close look at the lobes before buying, and have a consideration on valve spring poundage..
