CALLING ALL CLASSIC AND SPECIALIST GARAGE OWNERS!!!?? I am 18 first of all haha.
I have taken a year out this year as i had always planned on going to university and studying architecture but now things have changed FOR GOOD!!! after spending the last year working and tinkering with my mini and then onto my dads new astra i have decided that my passion for vehicles especially classic is unmatching and I LOVE IT. Therefore i would love and i mean LOVE an apprenticeship in a classic car specialist either refurbing or any kind of specialist garage. Therefore this is more of a request to all You mini and classic car garages in the south west preferably in or around bristol. I would love to come down and do some work experience and lend a hand to see if you like me :L. By the end of this year i will have completed 4 AS Levels and 3 A Levels all at either A's and B's. I have completed work experience at very well known architect modellers and requested back. All i am asking to some this ramble up is that weather you definetly want to offer or just maybe thinking about it or want to get in contact for a chat i would love to get into an apprenticeship like this.
Thankyou very much for reading guys
Jake

First off, I'm of no help.

Second, maybe you should buy a second hand building and tinker with it and see if you like it. Like a thatched cottage or a castle if you like the classics.

I am confused by this... Castles, cottages, classic cars, tinkering and weather.... But good luck, I hope you succeed in your ambitions.

I felt in the very same position as you as I had finished college and wanted to get into the motor industry.

I tried getting an apprenticeship with main car companies as they have them where you move away and work for them up north.

The up shot of it is that I didn't get any as I did some work experiece for a bit at a local car garage doing all cars but after work I didnt want to touch my own car as I was working on random Mondeo's all day lol.

I problem I had is that it took the fun out of working on cars. Saying this if I had worked at a tuning garage or classic car garage it might have been a different story.

Best thing to do would be to do work experience at a garage as you will not be expected to be the best and can learn the ropes, never know you might get a job at the end of it :)

At univeristy you could do 'motor sport engineering' instead of architecture as a friend did it and enjoyed it.

Ok cheers guys for the replies
I see how that may have been a bit confusing but basically im saying i would rather go into working with cars rather than architecture.now and would love an apprenticeship or maybe even some work ex with one of you garages out there.

good luck to ya fella, might be an idea to get a rusty old car and restore it up... but rather then buying all the panels and that make some yourself? shows ur skills to future employers etc :)
