Right this is more of a general chat then a problem section post. (Feel free to move admin if I’m wrong)

So im gona take out my heater this week to paint it . So I might as well flush the whole system, engine rad included.

How do you do it without using a hosepipe lol (God dam you Boris!!) :blink:

Fire away with epic ideas boys and girls …….

What does the hosepipe ban have to do with Boris?

You flush it, err, with your hosepipe. The ban is as follows (always, everywhere, it's the law) :

  • watering a ‘garden’ using a hosepipe;
  • cleaning a private motor-vehicle using a hosepipe;
  • watering plants on domestic or other non-commercial premises using a hosepipe;
  • cleaning a private leisure boat using a hosepipe;
  • filling or maintaining a domestic swimming or paddling pool (except when using hand held containers filled directly from a tap);
  • drawing water, using a hosepipe, for domestic recreational use;
  • filling or maintaining a domestic pond (excluding fish ponds) using a hosepipe;
  • filling or maintaining an ornamental fountain;
  • cleaning walls, or windows, of domestic premises using a hosepipe;
  • cleaning paths or patios using a hosepipe;
  • cleaning other artificial outdoor surfaces using a hosepipe.

None of that says repairs or maintenance of a private motor vehicle. Although if it's not your only car it can be argued that maintaining it is recreational I suppose.

You could do it in the garage so that no one can see (if you can) or maybe set up a tent around the car (might attract attention though).. If any one asks just you're doing some repair work.. If they report you for it, well they clearly haven't got anything interesting in their life.. Personally I'd just get on & do it. Maybe time it, mid morning on a weekday, when most people are at work..

Or.. You could get the Mini in the bathroom & use the shower, clothing would be optional.. - No hose pipes & if anyone comments about it you can come back at them with "why the hell were you watching me shower?!" ;D :lol:
