Not personally, I've never really liked the look of them and I bet the flex a lot lol]
Mine doesn't flex at all, handles just as well as my MPi Cooper did.

one thing i never understand, if I were a hairdresser, i would go for a car with a roof in case my hair got messed up by wind, rain ect ?

Yes it does have a steel bar between the b pillars. In front of that a large section is cut out like a sun screen. Only the c pillar and rear windows are completely removed. The door frames and some of the roof are still in place.
