Hi folks,
I have a feeling it is fried, but just wanted some clarification...

I have a lumenition kit fitted inside my Aldon dizzy, i was driving around fine y'day, got home, then went out a couple of later and it started, then died.
it appears that one of the wires coming out of the module has been rubbing on the disc that is with the kit and has worn through the outer cable and exposed/gone through a few of the fine inner wires.

I did try and give it a quick fix, but it didn't work (twiddle the wires together and tape up) but it only worked temporarily.
Is it worth me soldering the wires up and doing a "proper" job on it, or should i just go out and buy a new one? I am running points now and really don't want to be (yes BMC, i know, ha!!)
I have been very happy with how it has worked, it was fitted in the car when i got it, and to be fair, it's not been a normal breakdown in that the module was working fine and it was a man made error that has potentially screwed it.

I've waffled here...my main thing i was asking is, the wires coming out of the module have very fine wires within them, is it ok to solder these or are they a "once damaged, game over" sort of thing?

Cheers!!

If you are confident with your soldering then what's to lose? Either it will work afterwards - success - or it won't - status quo.

Go for it.
