Dad was looking for a new car for my grandparents, and I had seen A corsa which had been advertised on here, so I told him, I messaged the bloke, and we were at home with it 6 hours later, oh yeah, the car was just over 2 and a half hours away.

I'm looking into sticking the Mini on a boat to the states when it's done and driving from New York to LA. Would be one hell of a trip.

Max, Paddy and Gus were all milesssssssssssss away, Scotland and Darn Sarfffff. Its become part of our buying criteria that the car MUST INVOLVE a day long road trip

God knows what we'd do if one turned up on our own doorstep >_<

I think you need to empty a full gas tank at least once to count as a road trip.

Left Plymouth on a Friday evening in mid Winter, after my co driver had finished work. Drove a Land Rover and trailer to Scrabster on the far North of Scotland, loaded my 26' yacht on the trailer and drove it back to Plymouth, stopping only for fuel and food because he had to be back at work for 08.00 on the Monday.

Wouldn't want to do that trip too often.

It is interesting to hear about what is far, and I guess what some cultures are used to as far as traveling. I'm not saying it's typical, but my inlaws just visited us here in the states and they are from Germany. They wanted to see Niagara Falls. Little did they know it would take 10.5 hours to get up there. So I took them up there, stayed the night, checked it out in the morning, ate some lunch and drove home.

As far as the Mini, the longest trip was 20 hours in 2 days. Was fun... ish... sorta. Was an experience, and nothing like taking the drive on a motor you just put in a week earlier that cost $200. Turned out okay though!

Furthest I bought a car was 10 hours away, car parts maybe 5-6 hours away. But we are talking rare, unique stuff, not to save $30 on something off the shelf. Anyway, cheers!
