You have to lift the layshaft, not too difficult.

With the gearbox on the bench it takes about 40 minutes.
As said, you need to remove the layshaft to get the old pipe out and to loosly fit the new one. Then refit the layshaft, bolt up the new pick-up and it's done.
It's a good opportunity to fit a new layshaft and needle roller bearings if necessary.

Thread bump.....
I removed the original oil pipe from the gearbox but the centre oil pipe doesn't seem to look like it will fit as there is some of the casing in the way.
Is this normal?
