Hi!
Details of car:
Sprite, 1992, 1275cc that enough info? :)
Well Just fitted a new cylinder head ("stage 3") and new 1.5 hi lift roller tip rockers from mini spares. I had a "stage 1" fitted already! Now i have got the engine running and sounds find on idle! But when I put the throttle down it sounds like a bike! Really sluggish and can't make it any faster than 50! I'm not a mechanic or anything but just a learner! So simple form please :) any ideas? I haven't touched the carb or anything else just literally bolted everything on and adjusted the tappets as to the Haynes manual
Thanks!

Probably needs a new needle or at least a mess about with the carb; best thing to do is get it tuned on a rolling road.

like joseph said with all that work you have done you will probably need a better needle in the carb and a good tune up

Thanks for the replies! Ook I will get it booked in for a RR session asap then! I just took it out for another drive but no different, though this time it did cut out! Am I right in thinking that anti clockwise is to make the mixture screw leaner? Also I should have mentioned that it was running fine before Id done the head and rockers. also any tips to at least make it a bit more drivable as the RR is an hours drive or so away and also need It to get to work?

The fuel air mixture will now be wrong due to the better flowing head and valves that stay open longer. As above have rolling road tuned and they will no doubt fit a new needle and adjust the mixture to get it spot on, its also possible the timing might be slightly out...

I wouldn't advise it especially if its running too lean or the timing is out. Your call.

Almost certainly plug leads are wrong order....... 1342 anticlock around the dizzy. Assuming the head gasket hasn't blown that is......
