No, just checked some diagrams of the casing, it's not a bracket, sorry. Hacksaw it is then!

Have you looked here to see if there is a description on how to separate them?

I remember that I had to drive a small pin out with a hammer and punch to get my gear linkage apart

He's already got the roll pin out by the looks of it.

yeah ive got the pin out, its the other linkage i cant get off! Still having no luck, anyone else got any ideas??

Just punch and drill both ends and it will come off, simple!

Right, got me thinking this. Are you removing the engine? If so can you undo the other end of the rod? If you can remove the linkage and selector leaving only the rod, when the engine is lifted it will swing down and not be in the way. Once out should be easy to remove.

Yeh i think thats what I'm going to do, gonna have to raise the mini up a little bit more to allow for the length of the selector to come out

The other end of the rod can be undone. It is secured with one nut.

I had the same problem and used lots of WD40 but a tad too much brute force. The end of the rod is a touch distorted...
