Usually for me and the other half is about 2 grand!
I like to go abroad and wherever I go has to be more comfortable than my home, otherwise I might as well not bother!
I like all inclusive, that way you know what you're spending

as we live in Cornwall and have a camper we just go away every weekend it doesn't rain, 38 nights last year
my missus is always telling me it would be cheaper to have a week abroad but time i have a week off work unpaid (self employed ) and then the £1000-1500 for the holiday + airport car park spending money etc we just couldn't afford it
the camper cost £300 to tax, insure and MOT ish
camp sites cost us about £300 (we camp at classic car shows for free july and august)
fuel around £250-300
add £100 for something i have forgotten and we are at the lower end of that scale £1000 but we get almost 40 nights for that not just 1 week in the sun somewhere

So this whole thread was just a way of you showing Mrs Bungle what a good idea the Camper is and to quit moaning about never having a 'proper' holiday
Respect!
