my 1996 spi doesnt start due to it not sparking. it has a new battery, HT leads, plugs, distributor cap and ignition coil. not sure whether its a bad earth (as im not sure where to locate them) or if ive fried the ecu? any help would be great. cheers

If it wa ok it before it must be either a faulty part or incorrect fitting of the new parts,try substituting the old ones starting withe the coil.

it had a very weak spark before and wouldnt start as a result (hence the changes). all parts are fitted correctly according to the haynes manual but it doesnt show where the earth connections are. if someone could point me in the right direction as electrics arent my strong point it would be appriciated.

The earth point for the wiring loom is on the crossmember behind the ECU, just below the triangular strengthener. What condition is your engine earth strap in? It will probably be fixed to the top engine steady?
