Hi all, I noticed a leak with my master clutch cylinder on the weekend, (car is a 1990 carb Cooper RSP). A quick inspection and it all looks horrible down there, the clutch cylinder base plate is a mess of rust. I've successfully removed everything and ordered a new baseplate from minispares, at the same time I want to replace the 4 nuts which attach over the master cylinder and the other two over the plate, to remove them I used a metric 13mm socket. Does anybody know the thread/pitch size of these nuts? I'dd add some to the minispares shopping basket.

Hi guys I found it. Its a plain nut 5/16 UNF minispares part number GFK3212.

Best place to buy nuts & bolts is Namrick Limited (on line ordering).
The spanner size should be 1/2" AF - don't use metrics on most Mini nuts & bolts.

Thanks Cooperman!! It's weird, I tried all of the metrics first including the 1/2" AF, until I found the 13mm fitted better. It could be the corrosion of the nuts that made the '13mm' feel a better fit or could be that the nuts were replaced in antiquity, either way I'll make a bee-line straight to the 1/2" AF socket for re-fit. Namrick sell a '450 item' UNF nut, bolt & washer package and it really is excellent for working on a Mini. Price is sensible too and if you order on-line delivery is virtually 'next day'.
