however - I then remembered in the past with cars I used to own, I used to change the standard horn for air horns (but the more traditional compressor, tubes and twin trumpet types.. though I also remember while the cars never failed an MOT just because of the air horns, the air horns were either mentioned in the advisory or included in the list of fails ? I never remember having to swap the horns back to the standard electric horn though ....

I used to have both the normal horn and a 2 tone air horn. They were wired through a 3 way switch so I could use standard (MOT), air (normal) or both barrels which generally moved people. Worked beautifully.

We've got twin air horns on the Pug and have had for a few years. Had them on an MG Midget as well in the 80s. Never had a problem with the MOT the nor now .. I do warn the tester as they have a habit of testing IN the garage ... best checked outside O_O

by the way If anyone has heard a single Peugeot 206 horn and knows Handy Cross (M40 J4) you will know why we upgraded  :gimme:  The old horn is still on the car just not connected up so when I sell it (or scrap it) the air horns will come off.
