Ruckus, thats what threw me off too. It wouldn't work without it which I found odd.

I have this problem when using lights and wipers with my stereo on.

Might be worthwhile making sure your fanbelt is correctly adjusted to ensure your altenator has the best chance of producing a good charge, mine had gotten wet and was slipping causing the same symptoms as yours.


Don't think that's the problem as I've been driving the car in the dry, with no other electric stuff going...just seems completely random.

If all else fails. run new power wires for the HU. Switched live from the fuse box and perm. live from the starter solenoid battery feed. Should solve it.

turns out the chassis of the HU needed grounding as you said TA2DMAC, thanks for the help :) All sorted now, got the new speakers in as well, they sound better now that they've broken in a bit :D
