No, they for going to shows, meets, runs, events and the odd drive on a sunny day. I do about 3,000 to 5,000 miles in each one every year and clean them about once a month.

I brought the skull at The Leaning Tower of Pisa, when I was on holiday there in 1980, from one of the souvenir sellers. I think it represents the skull of a Saint that is in the Church there. I picked it up and thought, with a hole drilled in it, it would make a good gear stick knob for the Baja Bug that I had at the time. It been in about 5 different cars since then and is kind of an old friend.

Oh sorry, I kind of assumed it was bought as a gear knob! I guess I'll probably never know where ours came from.. I don't actually like it, but it's been in the car since my dad built it many moons ago, so I will never ever get rid of it.

Surf, do you have any pics of your Baja bug at all? can PM me them to save clogging up this thread, would love to see some pics of that! Baja bugs are one of my favourite cars of all time... next to the Mini of course!I picked it up and thought, with a hole drilled in it, it would make a good gear stick knob for the Baja Bug that I had at the time.
