My car is a 1990 Racing green.

I tried using the MInispares kit. There seems to be an aluminium bush in there already, which means the new one cannot seat. Is there an easy way of getting the old one out? So far I have only come up with drilling, screwing in some self tappers and levering it out. However this seems very brutal. I have seated the standard oil seal, and no drips, but I do not expect it to last.

What is the trick, guys?

As you say - the bush was a factory modification, fitted to cars as well as offered as a service kit. The bush is intended to keep the shaft centred in the oil seal, try wobbling the shaft, there may be no need to replace the bush already in there.

drill 2 holes in the bush either side and screw a self tapper in each then pull evenly on each scre with pliers and it should come out

Thats the only method ive found as well but if you have oil leak it must be passing there as no oil is supposed to get upto that far anyway the end one is a shaft seal come dust cover

Thanks for the info, chaps. Ive decided not to lever out the bush. I just wish Ide known it was there before buying the kit.
