hi all,this has proberbly been asked a million times before so apologies for this question.i have recently been given a 1098 block and gearbox that has had new pistons and bearings.it didnt however come with a head.i do have a 998 head that has big valves(unleaded),ported and polished.will this fit the 1098 block or is it a big no-no? any info or guidance would be great.thanks guys and gals

It will 'fit' whatever - performance will depend entirely on the mods to the head. Post up the size of the valves - and do you know the size of the combustion chambers? An even better head on a 1098 is the 940 head from a 1275 engine........

The A+ variant of the 1098 had the same head as the 998 anyway.... yes it'll fit and work quite perfectly well

most 1098 had the 12g202 head with slightly biger valves i have fitted a stage 3 head from my 998 onto a bored out 1098 and had no problems

thanks for all the answers,its mainly just to get the mini back on the road until i can source a 1275 engine.thanks again
