thanks for the pm, i'm organising a gathering of mini specials for the 35th anniversary in 2014 at minifest in uttoxeter, its a long way off yet but its going to take a while to find enough specials in original (ish) condition to make a decent display.......:-)

Just keen to speak to other mini special owners if they've had problems with their vinyl roofs, mine has traped water underneaf and will need a complete new roof.

Thanks for the invite but my mini special isn't standard spec anymore so doubt you would want her on the stand.

I'm in the process of asking bodywork people about replacing the entire roof and gutters but not getting anywhere nobody wants to take the task on!

I haven't set the facebook page up I spoke with George and suggested that he create a facebook page which he has done.

The roof is turning into a complete nightmare, dreading it to be honest thinking a new shell at this rate. Probs have to take her off the road and save up. She has had the black vinyl roof, black interior bucket seats, 12" revolutions, wider arches, sportex exhuast fitted. Think that's about it

im not a million miles from you , our unit is at kingstag not far from sherbourne . Seen a couple of mini specials pass by the doors for work over the years . One did have a fairly bad roof which we sorted out whilst retaining the original roof but the guttering was a right pig . we can always take a look and give a price to rectify it but we dont really have the facilitys to unstich a whole roof to replace it with a new one but there ar eother options in replacing the roof as long as the guttering can be repaired . Throw me a PM and you can always pop over to the unit one weekend and take a look at what we are doing atm for a chat about options and just have a general chat over coffee !

Hi, I can see why bodyshops wouldn't want to take on you roof repair. I've just put a new roof on mine and whilst replacing the roof is a relatively straight forward task, repairing the gutters is a pig of a job! See my project thread on the link below to see how I did mine.

Thanks for all your replies for some reason I didn't get a notification.

I know someone from our mini club who is selling his mini for parts and it may be possible for me to buy the roof off of him along with gutters etc as buying new is just rediculous money!

I do like the sound of a fibreglass roof and then re-vinyling but again imagine prices would be crazy.

Thanks Rented I'll send you a pm now.

Kirstie
