If you are grinding the caliper bodies, there is a very serious risk of fatigue failure some time later, and no amount of careful machining or crack testing will do the slightest thing to prevent it. The bridge between outer and inner sections of any caliper, i.e. the bit that would foul the wheel, is very highly stressed.
