To keep it short and simple; What calipers are these?

I think that they are 4 pot metro calipers? But I'm young and inexperienced, so any help would be appreciated :shy:

The damper is a Monroe according to the label. Originally Woodhead Monroe were an early supplier of dampers, long before the Mini, and were a typical mainstream supplier, much like Armstrong or Girling. I don't know much about the company history, but when the name became just Monroe, they had become a cheap downmarket supplier, much used by back street garages because they were cheaper than genuine manufacturers parts, and did not last very long. 40k miles for a standard damper at decent efficiency was quite normal when Monroes were popular, probably still is, but the better aftermarket brands, starting with Koni, greatly increased that.

My feeling is that you would do better with some decent adjustables, even Spax are much better.

The bleed nipples should all point upwards, not down.
