My other half bought me mine as an engagement present!

You need your own space, its the key to a successful marriage

Made me smile reading these. It will happen one day and she seems to think that the eldest daughter will get it as her first car, she's only 8!!
@toyboy396 I do the same thing to her and it winds her right up!! :proud:

I don't see the point in being in a relationship where the other half can tell you what you can and can't do (other than the rules you signed up to on the big day). My wife has many faults (just like me), but there is rarely an issue with me having 4 cars (three of which are classics) and the fact that I dissappear every other weekend hillclimbing.

Next time she want's to spent lots of money on a holiday abroad, refuse and insist on a camping trip to the lakes.

Plus one there Will. My wife encourages me to go hillclimbing and does'nt mind my minis and other cars. In return I give her the space she wants and don't go mad if she buys something.

If the funds aren't going to be an issue just buy it.

It's easier to ask for forgivness than permission.

I guess there is more to this than her just saying no. If money is tight, kids to pay for and have time for, then it's probably the voice of reason talking. I think a marriage is not being able to have complete freedom, IF there are other considerations to be taken into account when making decisions that WILL affect the whole family. A project mini does take up huge amounts of time space and money, all of which the average family are struggling with right now.

Accepting that she may be right on this occasion and be able to revisit this "want" in the future when circumstances are right is a sign of a good marriage with compromise.

Either that or she is a mardy cow!

Keep it, my missus after i spent a fortune setting up my garage for both mine and my sons mini has stated quite categorically "you are not welding or grinding in there" so i'm in cahoots with a mate with a nice little workshop. So she's happy there will be no nasty mess and i'm happy as i can make as much mess and noise as i like in the workshop. Win win i feel.

As long as the decorating gets done and i take her away on some nice hot Caribbean holiday every now and then its no problem.

My mum cannot tell either, despite owning a countryman. My reply is usually that Bini's aren't mini, they're huge in comparison.

Mine keeps buying me t-shirts, coffee table books, etc. about freakin' Binis. Not to look a gift horse in the mouth or anything, but it's getting harder and harder to be polite about it.

Do they have any testicles on Gumtree? Sounds like you could do with some.

or

Is this simply a cunning stunt to premote the sale of your own car?

;D
