what is involved in getting a 1275 head to fit on a 998 block ?
which heads require the least work/fit straight on ?
which head will give the best results on my engine ?
cheers
Rhys

To answer your original question, by fitting D tops and an unmolested 295 (2,75" height, 28cc chambers) you need no decking/skimming (a slight skim is advisable though).
Decking the block at TDC and skimming the cylinder head to achieve a specific CR is something you really look at when building an higher specced engine.
What head is currently fitted to your engine?

At first you have to source the D tops, they go for top money, and i'd go for some quality flat tops instead. Plus i dont think they ever made oversize D tops.

Valve guides with steps inWhat are 'stepped valve guides' ??
I'd go for a 12G940 casting. Last one I drove was actually a really nice pulling engine. Could be even better with a rolling road tune
