I fitted the accuspark ignition kit on mine. Best thing I've done, starts first time every time and runs a lot better now

Think I'll be getting one of these too once my points need replacing again (just changed them last month). Seem like a bargain :D

It's probably worth buying the kits now :) The Britpart kit when I first discovered about 3 or 4 yrs ago was £6.95, It's over double that now

paddockspares was the cheapest i could find currently.

cant say i noticed any performance change either, but i dont get the stuttering in the rain anymore etc

And, a good electronic system will put more energy into the spark, ...

True but most of the cheaper systems simply consist of an electronic trigger which replaces the points. This usefully improves reliability but to get a high energy spark you need one of the more expensive systems which also include an amplifier.

Aldon Ignitor is around £70 unless the've come down some, look exactly like the cheap Britpart / Accuspark jobs.

I think Lumination come with a seperate amplifier box ????

Compared to Aldon Ignitors which physically you'd struggle see much difference with, £30 is still cheap...I've seen the Ignitor advertised for over £100 on minispares.
