6.5" subs will fit easy, or 7x9 or 6x9 oval subs.
If you want a bit of work 8" can be made to fit.

With an 8" have you found any photos and what work is involved? would it require any modification to bench?
My plan if it doesn't fit to the board was to have a baffle attached to the board and then cloth and fibreglass this to make a fibreglass front and Im guessing use the space under the seat as the enclosure. Either that or build a sub box the right capacity by using fibreglass and matting to build a sub box molded to the shape of the space under the rear seat. Not sure if it will work but am going to try both. Will post some pictures when i give it ago.

iv just thought of a random idea so would like to know whats size subwoofer can be located under the mini's rear seats cheers jay
why not go for an 8 or 10 in the boot? Box it on the opposite side of the petrol tank. that's what I'll be doing, then putting 6x6's under the rear seats.

Must not comment... must not!
They are not subwoofers, or even mids for that matter.
There, just to save Ruckus from a nervous break down!

More to the point the positioning of those speakers firing into your arse is not a great set-up!
Plus 6x9" coaxial's are generally pretty poor in terms of sound quality.

Thanks for your POSITIVE COMMENTS GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!
Any sound system in a Mini is pretty much a waste of time as the car is so noisey to begin with, all the stuff in my car was bought as cheap end of line stuff just to put something in there.
I don't see the point in spending stacks of money on expensive sound equipment and put it in something with the acoustics of a biscuit tin.

And your rubbish about the acoustics in a mini, I don't think you are in a postion to make any statements about this. So please don't as you just make yourself sound silly and a bit of a keyboard warrior.
Lastly Sony were once a great car audio brand, then the marketing people took over and it all went Fast and Furious. It's a shame but a little bit of research would have told you Xplode is a brand to avoid... At any price.

if you think putting a decent system in a mini is a waste of time, may i suggest you first listen to a decent system fitted in a mini, then that way you will have some sort of basis for your opinion. Which i totally disagree with. Ah the beauty of free speech.

I can think of at least 30 minis that fit the bill, with at least half a dozen that are owned by users on this forum.
