Hi,

Just refitted my cooling system, filled it up last night and returned this morning to find water all over the floor.

I topped it back up and After checking every hose and connection I noticed the water pump was wet, after removing all the grime i found a small hole, perfectly round, leaking fairly quickly. It's on the top side of the housing angled towards the front of the car, what is this? PC won't let me upload a photo, I'll try later

Thanks :)

That is a vent hole for the bearing, and the problem is that the seal has failed, so you need a new pump, as the later ones are not rebuildable. The very early iron cased pumps could be stripped and rebuilt.
