I just picked up this shell on ebay for £165, its had a panels, inner and outer sills and just needs a rear subby mount doing, is this a lot of work to do? i think ive got a bargain considering everything else is good!

Yeah that looks good! Make sure you get the mounting done right or you could have trouble MOT time

You should really check what you need to do to avoid a Q plate! Check the reshelling a mini topic in the FAQ section

F1_Mini has one for sale as well.

Keep a look out, especially on Ebay. They sometimes crop up with a bit of a poor advert and an unfavourable end time and can go for less than £300. Most go for £450-600 though.

Alternatively, I seriously considered the SOHC 1.6 Vtec. Has a little less power, but you can pick them up for less than £200 and can still tune them quite easily to about 150bhp, which in a mini is still very quick!!

I think I saw that shell on ebay as I was looking for fibre glass front ends. Quality pic of the shell in the sprinter shell. Vtec sound a good plan, are you going to try and keep the standard length front end?
