Hi,

Sorry I may be asking this in the wrong section, but is a 6 point rollcage with no diagonal bar, as I want the rear seats, different from a saloon to a estate?

If it is where can I buy one for my clubby estate?

All help is appriciated.

Thank You

Bobby.

Bobby
I have always asumed a 6 point cage is normaly made up of two pieces a front cage and a rear. The 6 points come from 2 in the front foot well, 2 by the rear bins and 2 on the arches. Most will come without a diagonal unless you specificlly buy a fixed or removable one so if you want to keep the seats buy a rear cage without one.
As for are they different from saloon to estate i would have thought they are but i am not that familiar with the layout of the estate. I am sure if you spoke to one of the main mini suppliers they would tell you

Hi does this have a fixed diagonal bar, or is it un-bolt able?

Would you take £100 for it?

I would have thought a cage with no diagonal would just be a show cage correct me if im wrong but doesn't the diagonal add strength ?

a roll cage with no diag, is not just a show cage, but does not take the flex out the same way

I am also interested in this. As I'd like to add some structural rigidity to make the car stronger but maintain the functionality of carrying more than one passenger.

Is the 6 point cage with removable diagonal bar a suitable solution?

One thing to consider guys is that with a cage (even without a diagonal) in the back whilst carrying passengers is quite dangerous for them. I know its daft as a mini ain't exactly a safe place to be in a crash, but having such thick walled tubing not far away from a passenger is a bit dangerous. I know roll cages look cool and add a touch of motorsport flair to a car but they are really only intended for motorsport use. By all means fit one if you want as its your car, but it's worth considering.

+1 to 1380 - the thought of people in the back of a mini with a roll cage is a scarey thought, even if the people in the back have a full harness and not the usual 3 point seat belts.

In the event of an accident those in the back face the prospect of lethal head injuries as they hit the roll cage, if your fitting a roll cage think seriously about letting people to sit in the back seats. I assume you are telling your insurance company about the roll cage?
