As your car is a 77 model, it probably has drum brakes all round. Is that correct?
If you have not already done so, you should remove the brake drums and check for seized or leaking cylinders, and fluid on the brake shoes.
Before bleeding the system make sure that front and rear brakes are fully adjusted.

Seals in the master cylinder? Or if u have a servo maybe a failure there, but u never mentioned one so I'm guessing not
+1 i'd check here, you'll soon see if theres fluid leaking (and causing a loss in pressure) just pull the just cover back
