The next thing I want to try is fitting an anti roll or torsion bar to the rear suspension. I'm not gonna go to the expense of buying a taylor made one for minis, so I was wonderring if anyone else has done this using roll bars off something like a Metro or equivilant??

most anti roll bars are designed for the car its fitted to, they take into account the weight of the car, how the suspension movesetc , so if you fit one off say a metro, you may well end up with a car that handles worse than when you started!

I would have said that it was easier to roll a Mini (not easy) than to get it to slide (without handbrake). :saywhat:

I wouldn't bother getting one of another car. I thought about it but decided it was more hassle than it was worth. You'll end up having to make loads of linkages, mountings etc. to make it fit and probably spend as much money as buying one or making one from scratch.

They are a good mod though, they certinally help turn-in and if your rear arches rub round corners they'll stop that.

When i have set my gaz's up to fairly soft, and turned in sharply into a corner after breaking i went sideways, luckily i knew what to do, and turned it into a controlled slide!! was great fun tho, and a wicked buzz... too scared to do it again tho!!
