Reg plate though, gives it away a bit >_<

A fake v5 & plates don't take long to make - even chassis plates can be stamped easily

and the vin on the scuttle is rarely visable due to rust / replacement

if they can fake the latest £20 , then a V5 will be easy

I wouldn't be surprised if they're all being stored in barns somewhere, ready to be brought out in 20 years time to make the thieves some really serious money.

After reading this - I just bought something similar to this -

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3a75395aff

going to build it into my project - hopefully an invisible install

you can dial into it and listen to whats going on - even set a speed limit to be notified when over it

Mmmm this is getting closer.

How are they locating all these cars? Makes you wonder if they have an insight into mail order or simular details?

Probably broken for bits or to be rung with a scrap car V5?

Not a new thing though, mini's have always been a relitlivey easy target

Hope they turn up soon, put some footwork in, check local lock ups etc

I never even thought of that! Jeeeez its getting worse and worse...

I like that tracker you linked, definitely worth investing.

Like others have said they must all be in units or backs of vans somewhere, I doubt they'd put them up for sale as its too easy to see and find. Although if they did respray them then like you say...who would know?

Tmf should make up a trap mini with trackers ect. Lots of other random booby traps.
Catch these people out.

Can you contact other businesses further along the journey of where the mini went? along with the councils cctv you may be able to trace a better direction of where they took it..
If the council are unwilling to help then tell them its happened to alot of cars now and it could be an organised gang

Maybe this is what the thieves use to track where the valuable cars are?
