Would the engine from a 1994 corsa, only a 1.2 be worth dropping in a mini. I was originally going to plan a redtop built, but an elderly lady friend of the family wants her old corsa out the way due to buying a new car so the corsa is just sitting at the bottom of her drive doing nothing. It runs and drives fine and I can have it cheap so maybe my vaux built can start sooner than I thought!

Will be my first engine conversion built so I'm still slowly learning about the different vaux minis

Thank you

I don't think the micra conversion are worth while so I'm unsure about this one.

why would a micra conversion not be worth while?

I've never really thought they are, personally.

You can get a lot of power out of the twin cam micra engines!!

1.2 Corsa wouldn't be much quicker than an A-series, but you would get the reliability factor in the cold starts :)

A 1.2 is interchangeable with a 1.4-1.8 small block so it would be easier to change later. It should also fit an All speed frame. For the performance gains against cost I wouldn't bother with a 1.2 vauxhall engine. I would put that kind of money into building a good spec, well maintained 1275. A lot less work for the gain. If you are set on a vauxhall conversion I would look for a 1.6 instead.

I would also choose the micra conversion over a 1.2 vauxhall engine. The micra gearbox would be better geared for mini wheels than the vauxhall's gearbox.

I'm sticking with a redtop now anyway.

Thanks
