Mini's did do rather well in rallying remember so would like it to include all forms of motorsport and not be too track biased.

Definitely. I think the way to progress this is for me to set up a new section. Just called Minis In Motorsport or similar and once it's been used for the next few months we'll review whether to create extra sub-sections

I thought my posts were around a general motorsport theme...... for me my motorsport is about the Mini, 7s are fun and I will always offer a passenger ride to a rally driver who would offer the same in return.... in fact their an offer.

This thread has sparked a lot of interest, generally it would seem from those actually INVOLVE|D in motorsport.... just out of interest are their many just watching out their who arnt competing but are interested in the thread...... hold up a 'hand' if this section interests you and you dont compete, ( so we can establish the interest from non competitors )

I don't race, never have. But I've done the odd trackday and would love to compete. I know I'm never going to be a competitive driver though to be honest.

I had NEVER set foot on a circuit for any reason till 3 years ago.... I was at the back for most of the 1st season but by the end wasnt finishing last.... The second season you start to understand more and by the third you are starting to get the hang of it. Im told by those 'in the know' that it takes 10 years to get right up their..... in my chosen series, personally I belive a lot of the 'racing' is done at home in the garage, a DNF is nill points.... reliability first then learn you racecraft. Anyone can do it and I think its forums and discussions like this that can enlighten people and maybe convince them its not difficult to 'get racing' and the help and knowlege is available if they really fancy a try. If someone is interested enough to want to race then get a passenger ride, you just have to show some desire to get out their, its what the Mini does best.

I'll be following the motor sport section, hoping to get to watch a few events during the year
Went to the mighty mini event at Donnington last year & will definitely be going again this year.
