They are ! I like the long legs of the gearbox and tall final drive, but despair at the lack of power in the engine to pull them !

I have a close-ratio gear set I may put in, hoping that I can gain enough power to pull the tall gearing though.

Do you not find the gaps between the gears horrendous? I found when my mpi was standard it would only rev to four or five thousand rpm then the power totally dropped then changed gear and the gap between the gear totally ruined it

That would ruin the essence of the Mini for me to be honest. Having said that I am wanting to use mine as an occasional fun car, not a daily driver
