Nah it's just a daily run around that I'm planning on getting back on the road ASAP, so that I can take my existing mini off the road to work on.

It looks like the guy who I bought it from had started to break it for parts though, as it's missing a few bit's & pieces. So I'm planning to get all the bits it needs as cheaply as possible, which might mean a bit of a mismatch of whatever parts I can lay my hands on....... Which can only mean one thing......

It's a non runner at the mo, which might just be a fuelling issue but at worst case I know where I can get hold of reasonable a donor engine, so that's no biggy. It seems to be a pretty solid shell, just needs the doors re-skinning and ideally a new bonnet. The interior's been almost completely stripped though, so there's a fairly long list of bits needed to sort that.

Excellent idea, you always need a spare. I've developed a system for buying over the years and its utterly foolproof.

1 - Buy Mini
2 - Take mini off the road to restore
3 - buy 2nd mini to use whilst 1st one is being worked on
4 - Spend the time and money put aside for fixing mini#1 on #2
5 - Realise that you don't stand a chance of getting either of them on the road anytime soon.
6 - Buy another mini to use whilst the first 2 are being worked on
7 - Repeat steps 1 through 6 until skint/out of space/divororced

Its a brilliant system!!
