The HS joints are finally back together - I just need to do a few touch ups.

I've also been getting the front suspension ready for the new adjustable arms, so decided to make sure everything was greased. Pity the MiniSpares knuckle joint rubber caps are such **** quality.

I also received my Newton sunvisors and fitting kit :

It's been a while, but I just haven't had the time to do any work on her. I got some fabric loom tape off of eBay for a steal. Hope it works well :

Also spent the afternoon fitting some bits and pieces :

Ended with this :

Almost back on her wheels. Just need to add some paint to the disc and flange on the LHS and then it's sorted.

Lastly, I made some basic brackets for the spots to get an idea (ignore the placement of the AA badge) :

Are the brackets attached through the grille?

Nah. They're attached with the bumper bolts. Very far from done with them, but think it'll be an elegant solution - when compared to drilling into the bumper.

That's a cool idea! So basically the same bolt that attaches the bumper to the lip attaches the spotlights. It's a very good idea that ensures you don't ruin the bumpers that can be difficult to source.

Precisely why I did it that way. I've come across a few decent rear bumpers, but no front ones - wouldn't mind replacing my one.

I suppose it's not too easy to get a glass fibre one either since the moulds haven't been made.

If I can get a decent front bumper, I'd like some moulds taken in fibreglass.

I really like this idea. How are you going to bond the three pieces together? chopped mat glass fibre and some resin?

Have some metal tabs on the back already. Very far from done.

A few small items from MS. Can finally finish off the braking system and bleed it.

I haven't done too much to the car lately, especially with maintenance being carried out on the house. She does, however, now have a fresh garage. Nice and clean.

Also got a few extra stickers from StickyFingers :

I haven't updated in a while. It hasn't been a good time with the Mini of late. I'm still waiting for the completion of the 1000S cylinder head. Also, the Force centres were sent in for a colour change, but returned looking like utter ****. The less said about this, the better. Hopefully they can rectify the problem.

I made a start with bleeding the brakes. Few leaks here and there, but I hope I've sorted them out. Still a bit of a spongy pedal, so need to do some more. The grille has also been sent in to be chromed, so should look a lot better soon. Lastly, I received a few parts for the gear selector.

I started with this (rubbish picture, but it was covered in oil) :

55RWD16.jpg

And after a bit of petrol, degreaser and some aluminum cleaner, I ended up with this :

ZGZV5zA.jpg

I need to strip and repaint the gear lever and then reassemble with some fresh parts. One less item ticked off the list. I need to make a start on the diff and get it out the way.
