Hi was just wanting to know if anyone was running these Dunlop replica rims, just wanted to know if you are happy with the them and are they standing up well with use.It is just that my son has always loved these wheels and they have 15% off for xmas,I just feel this maybe the best way to go as trying to find a good genuine set will be hard,I know they do appear at times but they always seem to need a lot of work and with the costs involved this maybe the best option to go with the replica's.Many thanks

Yes and delighted with them. Been on since June and still look like new despite having done around 5 k.

Hi thanks for the reply, forgot to ask on original post does changing from 12"rims to 10"rims play havoc with your speedo reading?

Much more than that, it stands to play havoc with your brake calipers! :ohno:

You might want to look it up! ;D

I have heard this but not sure if it is a problem with the d1 dunlop replicas this is why I am asking for advice,it appears all the main mini parts suppliers get their stock of these wheels from midland wheels from what I have found out when ringing round.

I think the ones no one can fit tyres too are the earlier 6x10 Ultralight 'Minilite style' Midland wheels.....where the tyre fitting well was cast in the centre of the rim instead of offset to one side, making it virtually impossible to fit tyres without damaging them. The recess is there to make tyre installation and removal easier. When the bead ring of a tyre is fitted onto the wheel, it drops into the recess so the opposite tyre bead can be forced onto the rim without damage.

It was the revolution reps that had the tyre fitting issue, because when they realised they sold them out a £100 a set.

They are really dodgy for stuff like that. I have heard lots of quality issues as well, but not about the D1s to be fair.

There d1's are a rubbish copy though, the spokes have no depth and are pretty flat, are poor attempt to be honest.
