So, a bit of a thread revival here, and a sad story to tell , after being promised the earth at the body shop it was at , it became increasingly apparent that they were totally sh*te at anything to do with restoration and I wouldn’t trust them to work on a wheelbarrow , the shell came from there before they had time Completely destroy it.
I then was recommended another shop and the shell was taken there for them to have a look at and all sounded good and it was left there with the intention that it would started within four months , roll on 12 months and I get a call to say they were moving premises and had no storage and couldn’t give me a date for starting the job so there went another year of time wasted.Back home it came again.
The lesson learned here is don’t get sucked in with a good price....pay cheap and you pay twice ?
However the good news now is it’s now where I should have taken it in the first place , a brilliant mini specialist who have been exceptional throughout , and soon the shell will be in paint .Attached File  02C8DAEC-B86A-4529-8121-A54989CAE438.jpeg   69.03K   7 downloads

So this was the start of undoing the horrible mess made at the first body shop, the new panels fitted were so badly bashed about and poorly fitted that they had to come off ,tragic and painful I know but it’s been more cost effective to replace them rather than spend the hours trying to save them.Attached File  F94079B6-25B3-4411-891A-0C825AD5C12B.jpeg   66.5K   2 downloadsAttached File  3BAA974D-7E1E-4291-8A05-F1D502067BE4.jpeg   75.24K   2 downloadsAttached File  9FCDF363-7599-4C58-916C-54550F8F91A7.jpeg   69.63K   2 downloads

What a shame you've had your fingers burned - makes you wonder how these cowboys stay in business in these days of social media! Presumably you've restored all the parts to go back on by now once the shell's ready for them?

A very important lesson learned, I have more or less got everything ready for re assembly, going to need a new loom as the old one is brittle, still got the interior to clean up and new foam for the seat bases , really struggling to find carpets in lime flower, I suspect I will have to opt for a black set if I can’t find anythingAttached File  0EDD8BE9-537A-4DAC-8623-004EFEA82727.jpeg   58.59K   1 downloadsAttached File  3FFF12AF-8CC9-40BB-BFD3-351911924810.jpeg   45.48K   1 downloadsAttached File  F79F433B-8336-417A-A110-2ED1245D96F8.jpeg   29.55K   1 downloadsAttached File  66F5F2F3-D33A-48A9-999E-0F5DE2DF0D9D.jpeg   37.67K   0 downloadsAttached File  6C7FDDF9-B0DB-4BA2-8D84-7282BA864AF5.jpeg   40.23K   0 downloads

Well that looks like a much better job.

It's a shame you have had issues with the previous people but looks like you have found the right person for the job now.

Cheers

Ben

I live in Denbigh, North Wales, and the company that’s repairing mine is taking care of the paint .
